GIS survey of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Metropolitan Regional Development Authority areas begin
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: A Geographic Information System (GIS) survey of areas coming under the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Metropolitan Regional Development Authority (CSMRDA) has been initiated with the pilot launch of the project covering five out of a total 311 villages.Mauje Sahajapur, Balapur, Shendra Jahangir, Kagjipura and Farola are the villages that will be covered under the pilot launch of the project, for which a private consulting agency has been appointed."A survey of CSMRDA areas utilising the GIS system is currently underway to ensure the comprehensive future development of villages within the metropolitan region, and provide them with essential infrastructure," CSMRDA commissioner and divisional commissioner Jitendra Papalkar said.In a latest review meeting chaired, Papalkar asked different govt departments to support the survey by helping the private agency appointed.The CSMRDA has undertaken the task of preparing detailed reports and maps depicting the current status via the GIS system. To facilitate the process, representatives of the consulting agency concerned are to collect necessary information from various govt and semi-govt offices and establishments.
Furthermore, site inspections, including photographic documentation, are to be conducted wherever deemed necessary. Following that, an in-depth analysis of the physical, social and economic infrastructure in a total of 311 villages across five talukas coming under the CSMRDA will be carried out, authorities said.Parts of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Phulambri, Gangapur, Paithan and Khuldabad talukas fall under the CSMRDA. Notably, the CSMRDA also includes AURIC, coming up as a part of the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC), where multi-crore investment has taken place with the industrial hub emerging as the major hub of manufacturing of electric vehicles (EVs).
